The Zope External Editor is a software program which enables users to integrate Zope with their local tools. It allows for editing of objects either locally or from the Zope Management Interface (ZMI). It also provides functionality to save changes back to Zope without having to end the editing session, as well as the ability to lock objects while they are being edited. Additionally, file extensions or file type detection can be added to improve syntax highlighting.
